Democrats Reject Motion Recognizing Unborn Babies As “Vulnerable Populations”

On Friday House Democrats voted against a motion that recognized unborn babies as “vulnerable populations.”

According to the Daily Caller, Republican Washington Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers presented a motion to amend H.R. 535, a bill requiring the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency to declare certain chemicals as hazardous and take “vulnerable populations” into account when developing drinking water standards.

“When it comes to pregnant women that are at risk, there are two people at risk,” McMorris Rodgers said Friday. “The pregnant woman, and the unborn child.”

“This motion to recommit is simple, it’s clear, it’s direct. It clarifies the protection of vulnerable populations must include any unborn child,” McMorris Rodgers continued. “Yesterday Chairman Pallone recognized the potential harm these chemicals can have on child development. Today, Speaker Pelosi reiterated the importance of protecting expectant mothers. By rejecting this amendment, you would be further denying the science of the development of a child in the womb.”

A total of 219 Democrats voted against the motion, while four sided with Republicans in trying to protect unborn babies. The usual suspects in the “squad” all voted to keep unborn babies unprotected. Hey, at least Democrats are consistent in their views that the unborn are essentially worthless… It’s sad, but it’s consistent.

“Republicans today stood for the most vulnerable among us – the unborn,” House Leader Kevin McCarthy told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “It is sickening that Democrats have used their majority to stand with their socialist base rather than with the most defenseless in our society.”

This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. Democrats have maintained the position that the unborn aren’t valuable whatsoever. We have celebrities being praised for terminating their pregnancies so they could go on to win a freaking Golden Globe.

For the longest time the rhetoric among conservatives was “we just disagree with these people,” but it’s one thing to disagree about immigration and tax policy… It’s an entirely different thing to think that unborn babies aren’t worthy of any protection whatsoever.

How are we supposed to politely disagree with someone who thinks it’s okay to snuff out life for the mere sake of convenience?
