Rudy Guilani’s business associate, Lev Parnas, has been making the rounds on cable news outlets, and he’s supposedly spilling the beans on President Trump’s “mission” in Ukraine.
“It was all about 2020,” Parnas told CNN on Thursday. “To make sure [Trump] had another four years. That’s the way everybody viewed it. There was no other reason for doing it.”
Parnas, who was a huge supporter of the president, turned on the president the moment he was indicted for campaign finance violations in an obvious attempt to be spared of public condemnation by the left-wing media.
Since then, he’s made it his mission to go after President Trump, saying he’s willing to release a picture of the two every time Trump denies knowing him.
“I welcome him to say that even more,” Parnas told CNN. “Every time he says it, I’ll show them another picture.”
According to the New York Times, Parnas is on record saying he and President Trump have never spoken directly, completely destroying the narrative being perpetuated by talking heads during the evening news.
In their article The Times writes:
“Mr. Parnas said that although he did not speak with Mr. Trump about the efforts, he met with the president on several occasions and was told by Mr. Giuliani that Mr. Trump was kept in the loop.”
White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham pointed out just how ridiculous it is for the media to give credibility to a man who is currently being investigated for committing federal crimes.
“These allegations are being made by a man who is currently out on bail for federal crimes and is desperate to reduce his exposure to prison,” Grisham said in the statement. “The facts haven’t changed — the President did nothing wrong and this impeachment, which was manufactured and carried out by the Democrats, has been a sham from the start.”
Business Insider reports on Parnas’ switcheroo:
Parnas turned on Trump this week shortly after the House Intelligence Committee released a trove of incriminating evidence detailing his and Giuliani’s pressure campaign in Ukraine.
It included a note by Parnas, handwritten on Ritz-Carlton stationary, that said: “Get Zelensky to announce the Biden case will be investigated.”
Parnas has since said Trump “knew exactly what was going on” in Ukraine the whole time and implicated multiple senior administration officials, including Vice President Mike Pence and Attorney General William Barr, in being involved in the efforts.
“I don’t know those gentlemen,” Trump told reporters at the time. “Now it’s possible I have a picture with them because I have a picture with everybody, I have a picture with everybody here.”
