Google trends is a pretty useful tool for figuring out what people are searching for on the world’s most popular search engine, and according to “trends”, impeachment isn’t as popular as Democrats would like.
If you compare the terms “impeachment” or “Trump impeachment” with things like “NFL” or “NBA”, it seems as though nobody really cares to keep up with the current Senate impeachment trial.
More people care about the fact that multiple teams might have cheated at the game of baseball than they do about the president’s impeachment trial (the Cubs are the last champion to have won without cheating, so they are the still the defending champs).
Impeachment is incredibly unpopular, but that’s not stopping outlets like CNN from putting out polls that show “51% of Americans support removing Trump”. Never mind that people simply don’t care about impeachment. CNN runs with the headline, and people are left to believe that’s the truth.
Now, I’m having to deal with calls from my worried relatives over whether or not President Trump is going to be removed.
“I just saw this on the news,” my lovely grandmother will say, to which I have to assure her “nobody cares, grandma. America is doing great.”
More Americans are worried about who their team is going to draft than what is going to happen in the Senate impeachment hearing. More people are concerned with what’s going on in Virginia than what’s happening in Washington D.C. regarding impeachment.
Nobody cares, and Democrats don’t know what to do.
So while CNN can take their polls of 1,000 people and try to say it represents America, people should realize the vast majority of Americans do not care enough about impeachment to even look it up. People do not care, and telling you otherwise is simply a lie.
