When Virginia’s Governor Northam declared a state of emergency at the Capitol, he cited “threats” from “white supremacists” as the reason why people shouldn’t be allowed to carry guns for protection.
As usual, the media carried his water by bringing up the fact that one lady died at the Charlottesville rally in 2017, and therefore white supremacy is a problem we need to be talking about.
(For the record, nothing bad happened in Virginia on Monday)
The Department of Justice keeps track of “hate crimes”, and it is true, white people commit the majority of these crimes, but that number comes out to be around 3,300 people.
In 2018, the FBI reports that 29.9% of murder suspects were white. Seeing as white people make up a majority of the country, that number SHOULD be higher, especially if there is a so-called “white supremacy” problem, but that does not appear to be the case.
There’s really no need to spoon-feed it to you, so you can look at the data provided by the FBI and DOJ and come to your own conclusions, but make no mistake, there are bigger issues than “white supremacy” that the main stream media is too uncomfortable to tell you about.

If anything, the data for hate crimes is merely an equal representation of the general population. Meanwhile, murder statistics look a bit different… And murder means people die, so that’s a pretty big deal.

Statistics are important, but unfortunately we live in emotionally charged times so data often gets tossed aside to make sure people “feel good”. The media has no problem saying “we have a white supremacy problem”, but they don’t use that kind of rhetoric with other groups of people who disproportionately murder at a higher rate.
Now, I’m not going to say that “since the data shows x, everyone of this group is y”, because that’s not my point. My point is the media is clearly trying to divide us over something that really isn’t an issue, especially when compared to other issues we should be addressing.
Charlottesville was bad. White supremacy is bad. But let’s not pretend it’s this huge issue facing our country… We have bigger fish to fry.
