Remember back in 2016 when the Democratic nominee for president called half the voters in America a “basket of deplorables”?
Of course you do. Everyone does. It was a defining moment for a campaign that would ultimately lose to those “deplorables”.
So, one would expect a super-smart leftist to learn from this, and not repeat the same mistakes by mocking nearly half the country for voting different than them. Alas, that is not the case. It will never be the case. These people hate folks like you and me, and they aren’t afraid to show it on national television.
Don Lemon, who is being sued for sexual assault, had a couple of guests on his show, and the trio just couldn’t stop themselves from spending a good chunk of the segment mocking the “boomer rubes” who support President Donald Trump.
“Donald Trump couldn’t find Ukraine on a map if you put up a giant ‘U’, and a picture of a crane,” said one of the guests who kind of resembles a Tolkien character. “This is an administration defined by ignorance of the world.”
Lemon, for some reason, has completely lost control over himself, laughing at the mockery of Trump supporters. Then, the elfish looking fellow began to do his best impression of a Trump supporter:
“Donald Trump is the smart one, and y’all elitists are dumb,” he says, doing his best Alex Jones impersonation.
“You elitists with your geography and your maps,” chimes in the other fellow on the panel. “And your spelling, and reading.”
They go on for quite some time, and I implore you to watch it. This is what these people think of you.
The initial reaction is to fire off insults, and comebacks, but I’ve been working hard on self-control, so I’m not going to encourage anyone say nasty things about people on the left.
Instead, we need to thank God we don’t have to be like them. We don’t have to harbor so much anger and hatred for people simply because they don’t vote the way we do. Sure, we can disagree on policy (except the baby killing thing, there’s no ‘politely disagreeing’ over that), but there’s no need to insult.
Perhaps the gentlemen on Mr. Lemon’s panel are well aware that Donald Trump is going to win in 2020, so they see no need to hide their disdain for the future that has, in their view, already been determined.
That’s the only reason why these guys would feel comfortable insulting tens of millions of Americans. This type of rhetoric only ended up motivating Trump supporters in 2016. Either the talking heads haven’t learned from 2016, or they’ve already given up entirely, and lack the self-control to keep it together on air for a few minutes.
