President Trump Acquitted, American Satisfaction At All-Time High

On Thursday, during the National Prayer Breakfast, President Donald Trump held up a newspaper with the headline “Acquitted” as the room burst into cheers.

For the better half of a year, the president’s political adversaries had tried to have him removed, but Republicans prevailed, and now it’s time for Congress to get back to work.

While the impeachment of President Trump is still a very divisive issue, Gallup says that Americans are happier with their lives today than at any point since they’ve been tracking the national mood.

“New High of 90% of Americans Satisfied With Personal Life” reads the headline from the polling organization. This is great news for the people as a whole, but horrible news for Democrats trying to paint a picture of America being on fire under a Trump presidency.

The happiest people of all, according to Gallup, are people with high incomes, people who vote Republican, and people who are married. If you’ve hit the trifecta of all three, chances are you are in the “very satisfied” category of the poll.

With confidence in the economy at a high, people aren’t left with much to be upset about in their personal lives. All this means is that people, for the most part, are doing pretty good. All of the anger and hostility we see online is merely an outlier from the majority.

Low-income earners were the least satisfied of any group, but that’s to be expected. The vast majority of people who are unhappy are unhappy because of money problems. Right above low income earners were people who identify as Democrats, but they still reported a satisfaction level of 86%.

With the president acquitted, and Democrats screwing up their own primary process, it’s not a bold prediction to say that Donald Trump will be the president for four more years when he is reelected in 2020. People are generally happy. The economy is booming. Wages are going up. Tax season is here, and people are once again going to see that they are actually keeping more money than before.

CNN’s Van Jones pointed out that President Trump is also doing a lot to help African Americans, telling his colleagues “you may not like it, but he mentioned HBCU’s [historically black colleges and universities], black colleges have been struggling for a long time, a bunch of them have gone under, he threw a lifeline to them in real life in his budget.”

“We say, ‘well he said s-hole nations, therefore all black people are going to hate him forever.’ That ain’t necessarily so. I think what you’re going to see him do, you may not like my rhetoric, but look at my results and my record for black people. If he narrow casts that, it’s going to be effective.”

Even people at CNN are waking up to the idea that Trump supporters care more about the results than they do about the rhetoric. The “lock her up” chants and the jokes about a Trump dynasty are fun and all, but at the end of the day the voters are going to see how Trump’s policies impact their lives, and so far things are good. Things are very good.

Donald Trump will win the election in 2020, and it won’t be close. His support has only grown during his tenure in office as folks are seeing their lives get better. People don’t want to vote against their own well-being, and if satisfaction is at an all-time high, it’s safe to say the boat isn’t going to be rocked.

If anything, Democrats are going to feel the wrath of their attempt to remove President Trump from office. The attack ads write themselves at this point. Every Republican running for office only has to say “did your representative waste his/her time trying to remove a president that is making the country a better place?”

Every election season we are asked “are you better now than you were four years ago?”, and I’d guess that most people would say “yes.” On an individual level, people are doing good. Of course, there are a BUNCH of people who live life looking to be offended or upset on behalf of other people, but those people are going to be upset no matter what. There is always going to be something to be pissed off about. The weather, people being poor, children not being able to mutilate their bodies…

If we throw those folks out, and focus on the majority of people who are just trying to get by with their day to day lives, the verdict is in: Americans are happy.

Maybe, just maybe, we can save our country from socialism. People want to be happy in life, and when you look at the charts the keys to happiness are right there. Get married. Be smart with your money. Become a Republican.

Okay, the last one is pretty dependent on who is in office, but it doesn’t look like Donald Trump isn’t going anywhere for a while, so it’s better to hop on the train than live life pissed off in with the losing team.
